The Hong Kong Sea School
The School is a "Mainstream Secondary School with Special Characteristics". As such it provides an education that differs greatly from that of other secondary schools in Hong Kong. We service a special needs population by providing placements in the largest school boarding facility in Hong Kong for those students with a range of educational, social and family needs for which boarding may be of assistance. We also emphasize School-to-Work and Adventure Pursuits Programme which provide employment upon graduation for approximately 99 percent of our graduates as well as the development of positive attitudes to self which are so important for students who have been the victims of an educational system which has ingrained into them expectations of failure. And we use a discipline services model of training including a strict code of presentation and ceremonial parade.Traditionally, students at the Sea School have been trained for maritime related professions and in recent years the School has expanded its vocational education programmes to include training students in life-guarding as well as the maritime, hospitality and security and guarding industries.
The Association has supported boys at this School for many years through the generous support of members
